ABSTRUCT provided structural and civil engineering design for this new sports hall building, which extends an existing sports hall built recently. Controlled Modulus Column strengthening by Vibro Menard is proposed to the existing variable ground to provide a consistent loadbearing subbase for the foundations, which supports a steel portal frame building with mezzanine. A new contiguous piled wall will facilitate a significant reduction in ground level for the building whilst supporting the recently completed access road and car park. The below ground drainage works includes the relocation of existing attenuation tanks serving a separate part of the site in addition to the new attenuation required for the development.
