Restaurants, Bars & Entertainment
Paying homage to its much-loved sister restaurant, The Wolseley City is situated at the gateway to the city on King William Street by Monument Square.
ABSTRUCT provided full structural engineering design for the fit out of the new restaurant within the ground floor of this iconic building.
Our initial work was to carry out a feasibility study for the incorporation a new mezzanine to the rear of the restaurant and over the kitchens. Part of the building is located over the northern line and there were strict limitations on loadings. ABSTRUCT liaised with the landlord and TFL to obtain the necessary approvals.
Further work was to complete the detailed design of the steel framed mezzanine, full load assessments for the fit out, and design of new ceiling support structures to minimise the impact to the underside of the existing first floor (clay hollow pot floors).
