Abstruct Consulting provided full structural and civil engineering design services for the new hospitality and extended stand areas at the Oval Cricket Ground. The works involved the demolition of the existing Lock Laker stand and the construction of a new 7 storey hospitality space, new ground level grandstand seating, 2 new tiers of grandstand seating built over the existing Peter May stand and an extension to the historic pavilion building. The main buildings were steel framed with piled foundations which were complicated by the new TFL Northern line extension tunnel running in close proximity to the site.
