Adrian Boult (MD) and James Burton (Associate) were privileged to have been recently invited to present a talk to a group of boys in the Engineering Society at Tonbridge School. The presentation raised the questions of “What is Engineering?” and “What do Structural Engineers do?”. The interactive and exploratory session touched on topics such as key structural materials we design with, where these are commonly used and the different sectors we work in. Adrian and James also spoke about their own differing career paths in structural engineering which was followed by a discussion about the various career routes in engineering nowadays available for the students to consider.
