Abstruct provided Structural engineering design for the major refurbishment of the existing Hotel. The works entailed a new re-configured and extended lobby area consisting of a new steel frame, a new spa area which required extensive survey works and strengthening to load-bearing elements, the raising of floors in the back of house areas which required load capacity checks and the replacement of the existing slab to the former spa area due to defects found during construction works.
