ABSTRUCT provided structural engineering design, loading assessment and fitout for the new gym on level 25 of this new-build sky-scraper. The gym had to be acoustically isolated from the main shell structure which involved new sprung floors, acoustic ceilings and wall constructions all of which required detailed load assessment. Our work also entailed the design of a new back of house steel framed mezzanine, stairs, and climbing wall supports. Located on the 25th floor, BXR City is the City of London’s highest gym and highest climbing wall.
