"My first steps in structural engineering came when I was about 9, when our class did an experiment on how much weight a stick could carry when spanning between tables set at varying distances. Everyone else thought the longer sticks would be stronger! Having graduated in 2008 and then worked in a number of London-based practices, I joined Abstruct in 2019 as an Associate. I’ve worked on a great range of projects, including in the residential, retail, educational and cultural sectors. I really enjoy the mix of technical and non-technical challenges that we face as engineers, and feel huge satisfaction to see our designs become reality in a final completed building. Outside from work I enjoy spending time with my young family, trying to keep fit, and playing Bridge (the card game!)."
